went for a 2D1N malacca trip with darling, xue hong and nzj.
we ate alot, and bought alot. actually majority of the bought stuff belongs to xue hong. hahahaha.
we took the 830 am coach from keypoint, and reached malacca sentral at around 1245 pm. we waited for our driver to pick us up. our first destination is aunty lee nyonya restaurant. i already made the booking one week ago, and this restaurant is special because i also have to make booking for the food! luckily i got eat there before so i just ordered what i ate previously.
the above four dishes plus a plate of chap chye and a super big bowl of fish maw soup! and the four of us finished everything! :)
dinner was satay celup. the famous place to go to is capitol, but there was a super long queue, and the driver told us must wait for at least one hour. so i told him to bring us to another place, and he brought us to this place called ban lee hiang. this ban lee hiang is also a bit special because got two restaurants, side by side, with the signboard ban lee hiang. the one on the left claimed to be the original ban lee hiang. and the one on the right, with the orange signboard, claimed that both restaurants were actually together then a quarrel happened so right now two restaurants exist on their own. aiyah super complicated. dunno wassup with them.
anyway the four of us ate at the original ban lee hiang. the restaurant was already full and we were the first in the queue. we waited for about ten minutes.
each stick cost 70 cents ringgit. we ate 97 sticks in total. please drink lots of water after eating satay celup. because eating the satay celup will make you perspire like hell, and the satay celup itself is a very heaty dish.
the breakfast at our hotel, kings' hotel, was pretty fantastic. we were originally quite apprehensive because it is a 3 star hotel, and we thought that they only serve bread with butter but there was at least a buffet spread.
we finished our breakfast at 815 am. ate yong tau foo at 945 am! omg. hahaha.
at 11 am, we had chicken rice balls.
and after that we went to secret recipe to buy 4 different cakes. durian cheesecake is one of them, because it can never be found in singapore! and the durian cheesecake is really goodddddd~
anybody wanna join us for a malacca eating trip again? :)

from the guest blogger
good afternoon readers. today i have a guest blogger. pls read the post first before i disclose the person's identity. haha.
can guess who this person is? :)

the pictures. that the blogger wanted. haha.
i think by now you should have guessed who the blogger is. :)
today i went for a charity concert at Romeo Juliet Charlie, in aid of Operation Smile. didn't really know what to expect - didn't even know what exactly i was gonna be watching. and was kinda disappointed at the standard and quality of the performance. but what was more disappointing was the way the whole performance flowed. like, sound checks were done on stage, just before the item started; performers ran from audience seats up stage just before they had to appear onstage... it came across as pretty haphazard.
still, i must applaud the performers and organizers for putting together this charity concert to raise funds for this worthy cause. i've done charity concerts during my jc days too, and it's definitely not an easy task to coordinate and rehearse at the same time.
but the perfectionist in me cannot take the little unprofessionalism here and there. it really spoils the whole performance ):

(i admit i wasn't the best audience around though, hahaha.)
and hence i miss the thrill of doing dance productions. it was really stressful working through all the details, dealing with different people, meeting tight deadlines... but it helped a lot to have a awesome exco working alongside me! miss the crazy times with the seniors/alumni too, and all the nonsense we did together hahaha. it's... different now ):

not entirely in a bad way, but just... different. especially without the bunch of alumni who were around when i was still an undergrad. #想当年

malacca trip 2012
i am going to malacca on 28 and 29 april! with darling, xuehong and nzj!
at first i booked grand continental hotel on agoda, because it was really cheap, and the reviews on agoda were quite ok.
then this morning mummy happened to found some reviews on virtualtourist and sent them to nzj. nzj whatsapp us and i went to read them. omg the reviews were really quite worrying. they said that the beds got bugs ah, dressing table got cockroaches ah, bedsheets and blankets got weird smell ah, hotel air conditioner cannot adjust temperature and very cold to sleep in, and all the blah blah. so i immediately cancelled it and searched for other hotels, and in the end i chose Kings Hotel Malacca, slightly more expensive but hope that it is not as bad as grand continental.
lesson learnt: when booking hotels, dun just read reviews from a particular website. read reviews from different websites and compare! :p
one more week! satay celup, nyonya food, chicken rice balls, here we come!!!

the portrait
my student drew this and posted it on facebook yesterday night.
very well drawn right? she is from my form class, and she got top in the whole level for art. so this pic received alot of likes, and many people commented that she drew very well.
and i also added in a comment, very random one: can draw my portrait a not?
and this morning, after morning assembly, she walked up to me, and passed me a roll of paper. i unrolled it and saw this:
omg. touched...

wicked
i thought the show was at 8 pm, but realised that it was at 730 pm! darling and i were still inside din tai feng restaurant, and all our xiao long baos and wantons came at 715 pm and we quickly gobbled everything up. and i was having quite a full bladder upon reaching the theatre at 735 pm, and i cannot find any toilets in sight, and so i endured the first half of the show, lasting for about one hour fifteen minutes, with a super full bladder. what a break through for myself.
and because i seriously need to pee, so i whatsapped my little sis and brotherhood, asking them whether if the show got intermission. thankfully they replied me and said there is and that eased me a little.
the show is really good... the lead actresses can act and can sing very well!!! and the sets and theatrical effects ah... win already. omg.
favourite song of the night is defying gravity. :)
