tuesday post
i have a dance performance again!
presenting to you Labyrinth, organised by Rhythm 'N' Moves Dance Studio.
i am dancing in only one item, but i got another significant role. i am the 串场 in between each and every item! and my dear xue hong is choreographing my 串场.
another awesome thing about this performance is that i have 122 students, 6 teachers, 1 batman and 1 robin #2 to support me. the statistics look damn amazing right?
because i am the head of arts committee, one of my goals is to plan arts excursion for the students, and since i got plan my budget for bringing students to watch a performance, and so this performance it shall be. i will show my students and colleagues my eternal burning passion in performing arts.
performance is next saturday, 7th july, at joyden hall, at bugis+. bugis+ was formerly known as illuma. there will be 2 shows, one at 3 pm and the other one is at 8 pm.
looking forward!

the last friday of june holidays
went back to workplace for staff meeting. took staff photo and pe dept photo. we took the pe dept photo in front of our new house achievement wall.
nice right? i am the yellow colour one. turais house. :)
remember that i said before my house won the kindest house? finally my colleague uploaded the prize presentation photos.
my house captain. from hw's "favourite" country. but she is very localised already.
my cast for the kindness video!
the performance arena is now being utilised more as a photo-taking backdrop instead of a stage to showcase the students' talents. haha.
in the evening i fetch darling to the airport. she is going to australia for holiday with her sec sch classmates.
goodbye darling! bon voyage! i will miss you~

My Way
darling got two free cathay movie tickets. we used it to watch My Way.
awesome brotherhood type (fen, nzj and hw go and watch!!!) of movie, with impressive and gory war scenes. they show the soldiers' legs getting crushed by the tank metal tracks. ouch. and also the crazy jap soldiers wrapping themselves with explosives doing suicide missions to sacrifice themselves together with the soviet tanks. very bloody.
not a movie for the faint hearted.
very strong cast. 张东健 never disappoint, and that japanese guy is very good too! 范冰冰 is just like a... celefare. sadded.

day 8, 9 and 10 - taipei
one wonderful thing about brotherhood is that we are always able to meet the timing. on day 8, our breakfast arrives at 0630, the taxi arrives at 0645 to pick us up at the hotel, and our train to taipei leaves at 0730.
i woke up the earliest at 0600, and reached the hotel lobby at 0640. and when i reached the hotel lobby, the taxi was already waiting for us.
at 643, hw came down.
and i thought that the earliest that xuehong and nzj will come down is at 0650.
but to my amazement, at 0645, the lift door opened and they stepped out of the lift. hurray!!! 3 cheers for brotherhood!
we reached the train station at 0705. we were super on time. so we had our breakfast at the train station. and then we board the train and off we go to taipei!
hw seem to be looking at a chio passenger sitting behind xuehong.
it was a long trip. we only reach taipei train station at 1220. we are taking the normal railway train, not the high speed railway train.
during the train ride, i checked my facebook, and i saw an update from 食尚玩家, saying that the taiwanese govt has declared many cities in taiwan to not go to work and not go to school, and taipei was one of them. the heavy rain in taiwan had caused mudslides in tainan, killing and injuring people. there were also flash floods in certain parts of taiwan. xuehong's friend, noel, who is staying in taiwan, said that his first floor is flooded. he stays in a bungalow? hahahaha.
and so we were very worried... and when we reach taipei, it was still raining heavily... it was quite a long walk from ximending station to east dragon hotel. i am thankful that i have my nike raincoat.
met up with noel for dinner and he brought us to shilin night market. shilin has changed quite a bit! it has a food court at the basement! the original marketplace has been teared down, to build a performing arts centre. cool leh, after watching a performance the audience can go shilin for supper. after rehearsals and performance the performers can also go shilin for supper. it is all in the plot!!!
we were super lucky that there was no rain on day 9. the weather was really good!!! and it was a great shopping trip. i spent most of my money on day 9. haha.
brotherhood version of F4. we had enough of 流星雨. we want the sun!!!
at tough jeansmith. we spent quite a while in this shop because of the nice clothes and fabulous discounts. they use metal toilet bowls as seats! damn cool.
ta da! metal toilet bowl inside the changing room!
lunch was at coffee alley, strongly recommended by darling. once we walk in, we were amazed by the crowd because it was already 2 pm! lunch crowd should have cleared already right? both the waiters and waitresses are very good looking. hw was particularly attracted to this waitress with a supermodel face and supermodel legs. she was really tall... around 1.75 metres.
my yummy sandwich.
a closer look.
xuehong's pizza toast. very very nice! nicest among our 4 main dishes.
the beautiful and yummy waffles!
after lunch we went to 市政府 station. we browsed at 诚品 for a while. after that i went to 新光三越 to look for my dad's duck wings. xuehong and nzj went to 五分圃 to buy clothes.
singaporean and mauritian cannot be praised because after i praised them on day 8 for coming down on time at 0645, both of them were super late in meeting me and hw for dinner. the scheduled time was 830 pm but they only arrived at 940 pm. :(
all the 4 of us were super hungry and we gobbled down all the food in 10 minutes. btw we ate at saizeriya. hw was already full but the 3 of us were still hungry. so we bought street food at ximending and bring back to our hotel room to eat while watching tv. that is what i like most about staying in a hotel at ximending. it is so convenient. :)
finally day 10! it rained again. thank goodness it was our last day, and we had a good day of sun on day 9. our chartered vehicle came at 1145 to pick us up at the hotel. i got the contact from a 53 page taiwan itinery sent to me by my colleague. the guy who compiled it was really amazing. the trip to the airport is only NT750. very cheap!!! taxis will charge you at either NT1000 or NT1200. if you want his contact you can approach me personally. :)
ok that's about it! thank you to brotherhood for making this trip so fun and entertaining!!!

day 6 and 7 - 那些年下雨的台东
day 6, our final day to drive the car. we have to return the car on day 7 by 11 am.
we have a packed itinery on day 6, to fully utilise the car. but alas it was raining, and really dampened our spirits. :(
first location: 鹿野高台. if it wasnt raining, we would have took a parachute and admire the beautiful 台东 scenery.
the beautiful scenery from 鹿野高台. it looks so beautiful even when it was raining.
if it wasnt raining we would have ran down this ramp for the parachuting.
since it was raining, we can only take photos indoors. :(
second destination: 池上饭包. a place that is famous for 便当. and it also has a museum! which resulted in 那些年 photo taking frenzy.
the original:
the brotherhood version:
students so obedient under the fierce tutelage of mr big bad wolf/capt AMERICArrefour
role reversal. mr hw become the teacher.
mimicking a scene from stephen chow's 逃学威龙. throwing the feather duster.
violent teacher, submissive student.
and here's the lunchbox:
with the chicken thigh patty
the yummy ingredients under the chicken thigh patty! cost NT80. around 3 plus sing dollars. super cheap.
3rd destination: 初鹿牧场. it is a recommended place to go if you are in 台东, but honestly, it turns out to be a real disappointment...
looks familiar? hahahahahaha.
初鹿 x 出路. with 2 of the 3 guy dancers at 初鹿. how coincidental.
you can see these iconic cows everywhere around the farm, in different designs.
while we are leaving the farm, we saw a tour bus filled with tourists driving in.
nzj immediately said:"ahhhhhhhhhhh dun come!!! go back!!! dun waste your money!!!"
(entrance fee is NT100 per person)
it continued raining for the whole of day 6 and day 7. so our last group photo taken in 台东, out of all places, is at the...
lift of the hotel. the theme for the day is CAP.
because it was raining, we spend most of the time in the hotel shitting (fen and nzj can shit twice or thrice each day), taking afternoon siestas, watching tv, and eating food like 锅贴, 汤圆, big water melon.
the 汤圆 is really very nice! especially when eating it during cold rainy weather. :)
the water melon is really freaking huge. eat one piece full already. no need to eat lunch.
what a 堕落 lifestyle. :D
