the talk on stage presence

i reached sch at 12 pm and quickly did my slides on the stage presence, while having my lunch. doing things last min can be quite fun, but cannot do that all the time. hahahaha.

so the main focus of my presentation is on the 2 Es and 1 T, in order to have strong stage presence so that the audience will notice you. EXPRESSIONS, ENERGY and TECHNIQUE.

and i used the nuscd pics as good examples. therefore i will like to pay tribute to jingkai, for taking such wonderful pics, and also pay tribute to my fellow dancers, for portraying such strong expressions that can be used as a positive example for my students. *bows*

TECHNIQUE:

the expressions:

HAPPY:

ANIMATED:

SAD:

PAINFUL:

DEVASTATED:

-----------------------------------------------------

after my talk i got each performing group to think of a short item to showcase to everyone. there's band, choir, chinese dance, malay dance and english drama. i chose the sexes first part music, and coincidentally my sch's chinese dance girls got perform to that song before! oops... so to be fair i allow the rest of the cca groups to choose their own song. hahaha.

then i went to meet fen, nzj and zhunian. we performed the "sshhhh" dance (choreoed by fen for jitterbugs and dance uncensored). and then fen spoke to the students a bit on dance and then he performed a short segment of sorry sorry, and also taught the steps to some of my students, and everybody did the steps together. overall the whole thing was very fun, and well-received by the students.

thank you fen, nzj and zhunian for coming down all the way to tampines to help me, despite your busy schedule and staying so far. i am willing to lay down my life for you all if help is needed, but if really need me to die pls seek darling's permission first. hahahaha.

zhunian had to rush to church at pasir panjang. so i treated nzj and fen dinner at imperial treasure nan bei restaurant at tampines 1. food was great, but in small portions cos we ordered the set meal for 2.

very tiring day. man u won man city 1 nil! goal was scored at the 92nd minute! super exciting! hahaha.

sports day

this morning was my sch's sports day.

the pe teachers have to reach at 6 am to set up the venue. *yawnz*

the first race was supposed to start at 745, unfortunately it rained in the morning, so the event only started at 845. so we had no choice but to cancel the relay race, because the focus of this year's sport day is on the record-breaking event of 30 pple 31 legged race.

this year's sports day was really fun and had a great atmosphere. the senior teachers who had been in the sch for ten years or more agreed that this year's sports day is the best sports day. so i am proud to be part of the pe dept that organised this year's sports day!

presenting to you my wonderful colleagues. :)

(sian, my face got covered... btw the guy on the extreme right wearing adidas tee is my CT.)

after the sports day i went back to sch with my colleagues to unload the equipment. then i quickly went back home to take a nap, then met darling to go chung cheng together to watch the 集体器械 competition. seeing the students compete make me very gian to practise wushu again.

today is really a super packed day for me, cos at night i went back to hall to play takraw. and then after that i went to fen's house. the reason why i went to his house is because we are having a last min practise for a dance performance at my sch.

on wednesday my colleague (who is the malay dance teacher-in-charge) approached me, saying that on saturday there is an arts camp for the performing arts ccas, and ask me whether i can give the students a talk on how to improve stage presence. so i readily agreed because of my passion for performing arts. and then i immediately sms-ed fen and nzj to see whether they are free to help out, and they were ok with it! fen also helped me rope in zhunian so the four of us practised at bishan until 1230 midnight. haha.

and then i was searching for dance videos on youtube to show my students to inspire them, and i found these videos, which were truly inspiring:

these are prisoners from phillipines. everyone please rise to salute their efforts in putting up such a marvellous dance performance.

tuesday post

today i am not supposed to bring my kid to chung cheng for the wushu competition.

but thinking that today is already his last competitive event, and may also be his last inter-sch wushu competition (he is already sec 4 and wants to go poly), so i left the sch at 330 and took a cab down to chung cheng. his event scheduled time is at 345.

he was quite stunned when he saw me. and i told him,"这是你最后一个项目了,把全部筹码给押上去。你自己的表演欲要加强一点."

anyway he din get into top 3. competition was too tough.

and then it rained heavily, and we were stranded in sch. i thought of pangseh-ing them by following my tjc coach's car, but i decided not to because the 'duty' teacher who accompanied my kid is a chinese teacher from china, and he will definitely be at a loss on how to go back if i really pang seh them.

and because it was already six pm, all the taxi lines are busy, i started calling from 6 pm, and finally at 635 pm trans cab heeded my call, and a taxi is sent to rescue the 3 of us. and it turned out to be a mercedes cab! hahaha.

anyway when we reach tampines it is already past seven pm and the sch already locked! and i haven shut down my laptop!!! will my laptop explode and catch fire and burn down the whole staffroom? will my laptop be damaged beyond repair? haiz shit...

tmr first thing i reach the staffroom is to OFF my laptop!

'motion in stillness' 庆功宴

庆功宴 was held at laoshi's place.

i was highly entertained by laoshi's son. asked him how old is he and he refused to tell me, so i have to ask zhou laoshi, and when zhou laoshi told me he is in primary two, he give a super sian face. hahahaha. zhou laoshi was giving everyone tiger beer to drink. thank goodness i am driving and use that as an excuse not to drink so much. i drank only one can while liang bin drank 5 cans!

(i honestly dunno why the both of us are laughing so happily)

(attendance taking photo! the turn out was quite pathetic)

(showing nzj the pictures of starhub urban freestyle run)

so the new exco was announced.

and once they step up, they kenna arrowed to do an impromptu performance. haiz very ke lian. hahahaha.

Item number 8: THE MAN 男人

Synopsis: Man's abiding happiness is not in getting anything but in finding for himself some excitement, challenges and entertainment in life; Whatever that makes him a man.

*blogger's comment: YY IS THE MAN, not THE ONE. (wardrobe malfunction rulez)

Iten number 11: DESTINY 命中注定

Synopsis: The photojournalist, Kevin Carter was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Feature Photography but he committed suicide in 1994 after being haunted by vivid memories of the starving or wounded children.

*blogger's comment: the most unpractised item. haha.

starhub urban freestyle run

thanks to the stupid rain in the morning, the field at padang was wet and muddy, which also caused my shoes to be already wet and muddy before the race started.

ok without further delay, let me introduce the 4 of us who took part in the run:

me + darling:

me + the other 2 snowmen:

the starhub urban freestyle run is 6.5 km long, and has 9 obstacles along the way. the obstacles could be a bit more challenging. and some obstacles are the bottleneck obstacles which caused a HUGE human jam.

here are some of the obstacles:

foo shin this is for you to SLIDE down with your ass, NOT run down with your long legs!

the super big 7-up can. inside the can got a very heavy cooling mist.

the super big adidas shoe.

strike a pose by starworld, fox and star movies:

freestyle your way past two colliding cars:
dun have my pic because i am the camera man! i think i am very noble. hoho.

the proud finishers of the starhub urban freestyle run:

i want to applaud darling for running non stop throughout the whole run! she refused to give up at the last two km even though she is having stitches! well done darling! i am so proud of you!

thank you snowman 1 and snowman 3 for running together! next time if got this kind of fun events will definitely jio the both of you again!

so who is on to go again with me next year? :)

tomorrow is finally the last day of napfa testing.

friday afternoon i will be bringing my student to my alma mater for the national inter-sch wushu competition! hope that he will get top 3! today he got 5th in chang quan and he was very disappointed.

and this saturday is the starhub urban freestyle run! i am definitely looking forward to it! :)

rule number 1 and number 2

this afternoon i was having lunch with my colleague, rene (the guy who shared the same hotel room with me when we brought the kids to surabaya), and i was telling him about batman's issue on wearing the soccer jersey.

rene told me the 2 most important rules to follow, if you are working in any organization.

rule number 1: THE BOSS IS ALWAYS RIGHT.

rule number 2: whenever in doubt, REFER BACK TO RULE NUMBER 1.

hahahaha. its quite funny.

but i just heard that batman is thinking of letting the students and teachers wear world cup jerseys during the world cup season! woo hoo!

my closet has england, germany, france, korea, japan, holland and spain!

darling's bday celebration part 2: jang shou korean bbq~!

guess wat bday present i bought for darling?

behold the red color queen size bed that we are sitting on! anyway that is not the present. that is the new bed in my bedroom. the present is the necklace darling is wearing! i bought it from the RISIS warehouse sale at suntec! 70% off!

the pendant is actually a locket. you open the locket there is a miniature golden ring (not a proposal ring). so it is a 2-in-1 pendant!

brought darling to this korean bbq restaurant at katong, which is behind the 老 hong kong cafe. the restaurant is called JANG SHOU 长寿!

not open for lunch. only open for dinner.

6 pm to 12 midnight! you can reach early at 6 pm, then eat eat eat all the way until 12 midnight! last order is 1130 pm!

mon to thur: 28.80+++ per pax

fri to sun, & public holidays: 33.80+++ per pax

food is solid! the meat is fresh, chewy, tasty and yummy! got beef, lamb, pork, chicken, turkey, squid and fish! the meat goes well with the lettuce!

if you are sick of bbq meat, you can also bbq the veges! bbq veges consist of brinjal, mushroom, corn, green pepper and potato!

there is also the traditional korean starters, including kimchi! the kimchi is very very nice!

also got a salad and fruits section!

also got a cooked food section! there's stewed beef, korean pan cake, pork trotters, mussels, korean ramen, spaghetti, and seafood soup!

the service is also very good! the waiters can tell that me and darling are newbies, so they teach us the correct way of bbq-ing the meat, and recommended us to eat the lettuce with the meat!

when the bbq pan is too oily, they will come and wipe away the oil stains and the bbq pan will be super clean again!

the waiters are very fast in wiping our bbq pans, removing our empty plates, refilling our cold water! I LIKE!!!

i think this is more like a food review instead of darling's bday celebration post. haha.

so yah, i highly recommend JANG SHOU korean bbq restaurant!

darling and i had a great time eating there! :)

to end this post, HAPPY 2_th BIRTHDAY DARLING!!! :)

oh yah, and HAPPY 2_+1th birthday grace tiang!

birthday celebration @ woodlands field

it is 4th april! guess whose birthday falls on this auspicious date?

.

.

they also celebrated their bday together last year at amara hotel!

thank you chio outdoor enthusiast for being the chief organiser of this impromptu birthday surprise. so at 1130 pm, chio outdoor enthusiast, myself and hw met at the field. the cake and light sticks were handed over to hw to let him decorate the field, while chio outdoor enthusiast went to fetch grace, and i went to fetch darling.

bf + gf; bff + bff:

hw left early because he have to sweep tomb the next morning.

so the 4 of us stayed behind, and tried funny stuff like forming a flower using the light sticks.

and this is the best they came out with:

looks more like a smiley face. i was the photographer.

check out chio outdoor enthusiast's unglam face:

hahahahahahahahaha.

and then we had a "throw-lightstick-the-furthest" competition.

its quite nice to see the field littered with the light sticks of different colors.

ok its very late! i shall sleep now because tmr morning i also going to sweep tomb. and then in the afternoon darling and i will collect our starhub urban freestyle race pack at *scape. after that we will go for korean bbq! yummy!

good friday

good friday came and went just like that.

woke up in the morning to play command & conquer.

afternoon went to suntec with mr leow to shop for darling's present. bought the present. i also bought a pair of soccer boots for myself. had tony roma's spare ribs for high tea. so sinful.

at night went to fen's place to watch our performance videos and celebrate easter. hz is back from hk and she bought kinder bueno eggs for us.

we ate the eggs and happily assembled the miniature toys inside the egg. haha the memories of childhood.

fen showed us this super funny clip, and i must definitely share it with everyone!
