CNY concert photos!

CNY concert photos are out! there were 2 student photographers. coincidentally, one of them is called Shawn Quek. Shawn Quek is the professional photographer who took photos of the NUSCD 'Senses' dance production.

after a few days of eating, darling and i went to huanyang's bodyattack class! it was darling's first time joining the class (i attended the class 3 times already), and i think darling did well on her first attempt! *round of applause*

so we had a 55 min intensive workout, burning 750 calories!

we wasted the good workout by going to Edge Food Theatre at Pan Pacific Hotel for dinner. hahahahaha. the food there is good! i love the chilli crayfish! and the teochew style steamed salmon. as well as the desserts.

post performance blues have started since yesterday, after all the sharing of photos on whatsapp, and posting of photos on instagram. this morning audrey shared with us the photos from her DSLR!

CNY Concert 2015

this year will be my last year in the workplace. so i decided to make the CNY concert a more happening one, compared to the previous years. and it will also be my last performance at the workplace. therefore i must make it memorable. 

i choreographed 3 items: 

1) Vigour, a wushu dance item, using a very epic music, that once you hear the music, you will know it is very tan yy. hahahaha. 

2) Reminisce, an alumni item, using the song 细水长流. i made it lyrical, and the concept for this item is sec sch memories. 

3) Finale, that combines all the wushu, chinese dance and alumni performers, using the House of Dancing Water finale song, which is also RnM's Labyrinth finale song. 

i will think it is a good performance, because batman whatsapp-ed me to tell me that the items were well-choreographed. :)

i feel blessed to be able to do something that i really like, and feel grateful that i have a bunch of passionate and committed students who are always with me, even when they have graduated. i know they wun be reading this, but i really want to thank them from the bottom of my heart.

a group photo before our turn to perform! initially there is one more wushu girl but she had swollen eyes this morning and wasnt able to come to sch. i can't afford to make changes in formation at the very last minute so have to leave a gap there. and the chinese dance president (one of the girls in red) slipped and fell on stage during her solo for the chinese dance segment earlier. she cried and i had a good talk with her so that she can pick herself up and focus on this item. 

performance over! time to take photos! the guy in the middle is very tall... 1.9 metres i think? hence take photo with him can only sit down, cannot stand up. hahahaha. 

with the 3 best wushu students. thankful to have them, because without them, i wun be able to choreo entertaining stuff for the workplace.

v day post

the morning of v day is spent with the alumni, for our final practise before the CNY concert. 

and in the afternoon i went to darling's house to celebrate v day, by cooking dinner together for her family. :)

cod fish with cherry tomatoes, potatoes, red onions and sweet peas! recipe is very easy. and it taste so GOODDDDDDDDD!!!

 

stir fried asparagus with scallops in XO sauce. darling's cooking is getting better and better!

portobello mushroom with ham! doesn't look visually enhancing because we didn't put in the cheese, because darling's dad don't like cheese. we didn't marinate the ham because we thought the ham is salty enough to bring out the flavour. unfortunately the ham isn't and the whole thing tasted quite bland. nvm we will improve! :)

my v day present from darling! love it! unfortunately the v day present for darling that was supposed to be delivered to her doorstep wasn't delivered at all. i am going to call the supplier and scold her. 

friday post

organised the inter-house cpt ball tournament for the upper sec students this afternoon. 

the sec 4 turais girls got 1st! :)

they got 2nd! out of the 6 of them, 4 are from performing arts, 1 from sports, and 1 from uniformed groups. performing arts students can play sports also ok!! (i am the best example hahahahahaha)

ouch look at those splits on the scalding hot netball court. 

can't wait for cny next week! and of course v day tmr. :)

Froth

went to Froth yesterday with my colleagues Miss Chen and Miss Chua. unfortunately their two signature dishes, Doritos Winglets and Taro Cheesecake are out of stock. :(

spam fries (luncheon meat fries). very nice! i love it. 

my lobster sandwich. still cannot win the one at boston quincy market. 

Miss Chen recommended the Taro waffles, but Taro out of stock, so we made do with the red velvet waffles. 

no Taro cheesecake, so we made do with nutella cheesecake. 


today, i brought darling and her family to Froth for dinner. unfortunately the winglets and taro cheesecake is out of stock again!!! haiz ultimate sadness.

Senses Day 2

before the final show, we presented our gifts to the choreographers bin gege and silei. our item is named as 'Rain', and hence it is very apt to give them umbrellas. we wrote our messages on coloured paper and hang them at the frame of the umbrella, such that when the umbrella is opened, the messages will drop down. #SOromantic #SOcreative

who is the brilliant genius who thought of this? me lor. anyway the umbrellas are very famous, because they appeared in the Mr JK's epic flash mob proposal at changi airport! i bought them from the artistic director of the flash mob! dun play play ok!

if we wear a white colour belt, we will look like oreo biscuits packaging. 

this photo on facebook got alot of likes and comments. and all these likes and comments are from her friends. they think that floating in the air is very impressive. -.-'''

the well-known dance partner who is well-known for having zero chemistry with me. we kenna slammed since the first vetting. i remembered DLS said:"你们俩各自做各自的，一点交流和默契都没有。" hahahahahahaha. but i am glad our chemistry got slightly better for the two night shows. 

everywhere i go, everywhere i have to take a photo with the same pose. they are trying a bit hard to mimic my expression. hahahahaha.
