holiday trip nx year

some of you may be surprised that i din go overseas for holiday during the december period. brunei doesnt count because i went there for "work", not for pleasure. 


so let me announce my holiday destination nx year, in december. i will really love to go to:

i want to go there with darling, and we will eat, shop and go to onsen~ hahahahahaha.

n level results

today i went back to sch to do some admin work, and it was also the N level results release. i am the standby teacher, just in case the form teachers or co-form teachers of the classes are not around, so i will be called upon, and true enough, one of them was not around, so i am called upon.


the sch did quite well. above national average. and batman is happy. students are happy too! if batman happy, students happy, of course teachers happy. hahahaha.

high chinese tea

yesterday i accompanied leow chee leong to shop for new clothes. he bought his blazer at far east plaza. and i bought a new pair of adidas running shoes at peninsula shopping centre.

and then we went to the most atas chinese tea place you can ever find in singapore. if you can find a more atas place than this, let me know!


the name of the place, which is in esplanade:

chinese tea for an emperor to drink. i am the emperor. haha.


once you go in, the lady will place a tray of different tea leaves for you to choose the tea that you want to brew. got ang mor tea and also got chinese tea. 

the ones with white sticker are chinese tea. black sticker is for ang mor tea. 


then you can take one of the cans and open the cap and smell the fragrance of the tea leaves.

interesting hor? haha.


mr leow chose the 桂花茶. so we ordered a set which comes with a slice of tiramisu, and a pot of the 桂花茶.

this set costs 14 bucks. DAMN ATAS.

this is a very good place to sit down, rest your legs, enjoy a lazy afternoon sipping chinese tea and eating tiramisu cake or other emperor's snackbites. 8 upon 10! deduct 2 marks because the prices are quite steep. haha.

the boring holidays

well, this is now the best time to relax and to slack, because once 2011 starts, the pace of working life is so fast that i cant even stop and catch a breather.


so i shall continue to do nothing and to slack. hahahaha.

WALS @ UBD

WALS conference was held at UBD (University of Brunei Darussalam). UBD is 15 min drive away from our hotel. and UBD is very very quiet. the only people there are the ones attending the conference. i think it is their semester break now. but in NUS, even if its the semester break, there are still many pple.

so as you can see, lesson studies is the 'in' thing now, and within this two years, i am sure all schools will have lesson studies implemented. this is especially so when the presidency of WALS will be handed over to a singaporean professor from NIE in 2011, and singapore will be hosting WALS in 2012. 


and guess where will WALS be held in 2011? the answer is TOKYO!!! sure got many pple want to go. hahahaha.


ok i forgot to mention that i met my sec 4 form teacher. my class was his first form class when he came into chung cheng as a beginning teacher. now he is the HOD of humanities. haiz how time flies. and he couldnt recognise me when i greeted him. but he remembers my name, and remembers me as a skinny person who wears specs. hahahaha.

it is really amazing isnt it? teacher and ex student attending an education conference in brunei. oh i saw a few of my tjc lecturers too.


and then on the last night there is a celebration dinner, which is held at the ballroom of rizqun international hotel. we sat with this group of swedish, 2 were teachers and the other 2 were principals! dunno whether yedan has seen them before. haha.

ok so that's all about WALS. 


as for brunei itself, i din spend alot of money. i spent 42 bucks on massage at the hotel spa. i spent 8 bucks on 2 dvds. i spent 10 bucks on a box of meiji chocolates for darling. i spent 9 bucks on rapunzel 3D at the first 3D movie theatre in brunei. and i spent less than 20 dollars on food. this is really the most 省钱 holiday. haha.

back from brunei!

ok i am back. and i am quite tired. so i will just blog briefly. 


there are altogether 500+ pple who attended the WALS (World Association of Lesson Studies) in brunei. out of the 500+, 328 are international delegates. out of the 328 international delegates, 200 are singaporeans.


out of the 200 singaporeans, 3 are from my sch, myself included. so let me introduce to you my other 2 colleagues:

the lady in the middle is mdm lim, married to an indian husband, has 1 son 2 daughters, and she teaches physics. her husband is also a teacher. the other guy is siang guan, who also has the same surname as me, so in sch they call him senior tan, and call me junior tan. btw senior tan also teaches chemistry. hoho. btw senior tan is single and available. junior tan, of course, is not.


so from the 3 of us, you can basically tell that me and senior tan share one hotel room, and mdm lim has one room to herself. so let's show our rooms.

not too bad lah hor? for your information, we are staying at rizqun international hotel, and it is a 5 star hotel!


if you think our room is not bad, mdm lim's room is the best. and her room is bigger than our room. -.-'''

we stayed at our hotel rooms for 3 nights. imagine the 3 nights of luxury for me and senior tan. imagine the 3 nights of luxury x 2 for mdm lim. hahahahaha.


and here's wat me and senior tan do in our hotel room at night:

senior tan play her online warcraft game, while i play with my 金庸群侠传. the online charges for the hotel room is absurd. one hour six dollars. whole day 40 dollars. too ex for me. but senior tan is more than willing to pay that money.

and the tv channels are not bad! got tvbs asia, espn, star sports, hbo and star movies! nua-ing and staying at rizqun is really wonderful!

universal world studio and science centre

today darling took leave so that both of us can go out before i leave for brunei tomorrow. yes i am going to brunei tomorrow, and coming back this saturday. the purpose of going brunei is definitely not for holiday (who in the first place will go brunei for a holiday), but to go there to attend a lesson studies conference.


the original plan was to go universal world studio, but the moment we reach there, we realised the tickets were sold out. HUH??!! got so kua zhang a not? so to all my friends, if you want to go universal studio, cannot go on that day and buy tickets, you must plan in advance. 


since we are already here and paid the sentosa admission fee, might as well take some pictures to make us feel less sad.

so no more universal world studio, we still got many hours to spend, and we decided to go science centre for the CSI exhibition.

to be honest, my childhood ambition was to become a police officer.

after solving 3 crimes at the CSI exhibition, we toured the rest of the science centre.
