tokyo day 8

the attraction for today is ghibli museum! ghibli museum is a museum to showcase 宫崎骏 works. if you dunno who he is, let me show you some clues.

watch these movies before? yup he is the creator.

and he looks like this:

very 慈祥 hor? like that colonel from kfc. haha.

before going there we had our breakfast at family mart.

this is yummy to the max! darling put the white carrot in first then put the other ingredients on top then we go and pay the money. when we go back to the hotel darling was checking the receipt and she realised the cashier din charge us the money for the white carrot. hahahaha~ (putting the white carrot in first is really really unintentional)

to go to ghibli museum, must take the metro to mitaka station. from mitaka station you can choose to walk to the museum for 15 min. or you can take their shuttle bus which cost 200 yen for one-way trip, and 300 yen for two-way trip. of course take two-way lah~ but some bloggers recommend one-way because on the way to the museum there is a beautiful garden where you can take pictures.

the very cute bus.

btw hor, tickets to ghibli museum must also be booked in advance. must book at those ticketing machines found at lawson convenience stores. lawson is one of their many convenience stores in japan, machiam like our 7-11. in fact you can only see very few 7-11 in japan, but you will see alot of lawson and family mart.

the theme for ghibli museum is very meaningful: LET'S LOSE OUR WAY, TOGETHER.

You will discover many interesting things in the Museum. There are no set routes that you must follow. You are the one to discover your own way. Those who can lose their way and fully enjoy this space are welcomed at the Museum.

this is my colleague! haha. he teaches pe and maths but now he teaches full load pe.

we are very lucky that the weather is very good and the sun came out. :)

after the museum we went to shibuya!!! to do crazy shopping! once we reach shibuya we were like... OMG! GAN PHUA ZHUAY LANG~

shibuya got this famous crossing whereby the traffic lights will turn red then all the pedestrains will walk from all directions. you can witness this organised chaos from starbucks 2nd floor in the Tsutaya building. haha.

i went to KAMO which is a shop selling soccer jerseys! bought a j league jersey for myself. you may think that how come i din buy more. it is because the j league jerseys are super expensive!!! even more expensive than the international/barclays premier league/spanish la liga/italian serie A jerseys!!! absurd!!! hence i only bought ONE jersey for myself. and one jersey for xue hong. hahahahahaha. his long overdue bday present. :p

yay wayne rooney!

then i saw a adidas shop. i also went crazy there. the things there are soooooooo NICE!!! got japanese limited edition one some more! that is only exclusive in japan! you cant get that anywhere else!

nice hor? bought this set of black and gold track suit, together with a pair of gold sneakers. coolest to the max!!!

i pity darling because i am the only one buying lots of things and she bought very few because she can't find one that she really like... i pity her most at the end because she has to carry alot of my things when we go back to the airport on the last day. you watch drama is always woman alot of things, man very little things and the man will carry for the woman, but this time it is the other way round... :p

THANK YOU DARLING! YOU ARE THE MOST NOBLE GF!!!

ok after the crazy shopping at shibuya we went to a very special restaurant! a ninja-themed restaurant! found this restaurant through the tokyo blogs. hahaha.

the entrance of the restaurant. very 隐秘. very hard to find. well it is a ninja restaurant anyway. must be well concealed in order to be a ninja hideout.

and hor, you must also make reservations in advance. i make the reservation one week before the trip for 530 pm, and dun have this slot already, only have 845 pm. LL have to accept lor...

ok we went in to the entrance, got one lady in ninja costume smiling at us. saw my reservation on her book and she said a ninja will come very shortly to bring us to a secret hideout. then she clap her hands twice and then got a trap door suddenly open and jump out a female ninja! WAH! stunned! hahahaha.

this is the ninja who led us to our "chamber".

"ninpou kuchiyose doton tsuiga no jutsu!!!" *all copy from naruto*

the 飞镖 can eat one! throw at pple wun die one!

the 武林秘级! no lah it is the sacred scroll menu.

while eating halfway this person who claimed that he is the restaurant's master ninja performed a series of magic tricks for us! his magic tricks are cool! more handsome than 刘谦. hahahaha.

si bei effort by the ninja waitress. :)

the food here is very very expensive. but paying so much for the atmosphere, the ninja thrill and the magic show, is still ok lah. come once will do. no need to go again. cos seriously the food really 不怎样. haha.

tokyo day 7

today we are going to disneysea! with my colleague and his wife! my colleague already book the tickets in advance before going to japan.

we meet at the hotel lobby at 8 am and off we go! when we reach shinjuku station, darling and i were super traumatised by the early morning peak hour crowd. it is crazy!!! every carriage is packed like sardines! and when pple exit the train and crowd around the escalator, they are practically pushing each other to get up the escalator!!! omg! demerit point for tokyo. :(

on the way there we bought some bread and bento set to bring to disneysea to eat. my colleague advise us to do that because the food at disneysea is very expensive, and all the restaurants are packed with pple. and when we reach there it is entirely true. good advice! :)

btw the tokyo metro line is quite confusing... they got so many lines and so many different platforms. first day you sure very lost but after that i think it is ok. i also roughly understand the whole thingy during day 8 onwards. but if you really dunno where to take the train, just go to the information counter, tell the staff which station you want to go, and he/she will tell you the platform number. :)

anyway here is a very useful website on how to take the tokyo metro from one place to another:
http://www.tokyo-subway.net/english/index.html

disneysea celebrating its 10th year anniversary!

duffy, the mascot of disneysea! only disneysea has duffy. disneyland dun have. everybody who goes to disneysea will buy duffy and hang it on their bag or carry it with them wherever they go. darling and i are not as crazy as them. i am only crazy enough to buy 1 duffy for darling when we were about to leave disneysea. hahahahahaha.

darling is carrying the female version.

darling with her animal hat craze again. hahaha.

wah seh so retro.

near~ far~ wherever you are~

this is the scariest ride we ever sat in disneysea. we are seated in an elevator. then we can feel the elevator going very high up. then it suddenly stopped and the elevator door open. and we can see the whole disneysea. and i was thinking: WAH LAO HO SEI LIAO...

and the next second the elevator just went down at high speed and all of us screamed. hahahahaha. it was crazy!!!

reliving childhood memory. hahahaha.

it started to rain at around 1 pm... and rain all the way without stopping. we were quite sian so we left first. my colleague and his wife stayed behind because they want to watch the disney show at 8 pm. so we left them and went back to the hotel first.

we were wet, tired and hungry. and we went to this jap restaurant just about 50 metres beside our hotel. trust me, the food is so so so so GOOD!!! totally warmed our stomachs and warmed our spirits!

after dinner we went to harajuku for shopping! quite a nice place to walk walk. and alot of shops! bought a shirt and jacket at one of the shops. and i wore the shirt the next day. hahaha.

ok here's the duffy that i bought for darling. while i was bathing darling was happily putting on clothes for him.

我们的爱情结晶。hahahahahahaha.

hokkaido and tokyo - day 6

our last day in hokkaido... sob sob...

the best way to end the day is having awesome breakfast, at awesome restaurant, located at 12th floor of the hotel, where you can view the magnificient scenery while eating your breakfast. oh yah i also woke up at 6 am to go for hot spring. hahahaha.

random pic. darling is very impressed that the lift got an armchair. most probably for the oh-ba-san to sit after a long day of travelling.

the magnificient snow scenery

nutritious breakfast makes our day!

also got omelette station! mine is cheese omelette! very nice! :)

after breakfast we took emo shots in the hotel room, because we are leaving wonderful and tranquil hokkaido.

and then we got changed and off we go to chitose airport for our domestic flight to tokyo haneda airport!

our couple jackets! i bought them at either john little, robinson, isetan or metro sale at singapore expo. hahahaha.

we reach chitose airport at 11 am. our flight is 130 pm so we go and fill our stomachs first.

time for some western food for a change! but even the pasta also got a tinge of jap flavour. zzzzzzzzz...

finally reached tokyo haneda airport. because the stupid flight got delayed at chitose, we missed our scheduled limousine bus timing at 345, so must board the next bus at 530! sian ji bua...

was hungry again so i went to buy bento set. hahaha.

haneda airport! wearing the rugby world cup jersey that xuehong, laval and nzj bought for me.

japanese bento!

look at the contents of the bento! fried rice with shrimp, a piece of spicy chicken, two siew mai, and some pickled radish. 900 yen. 15 sing dollars! so ex!!!

airport limousine bus is good. send us straight to our hotel. but because we board the bus at 530 we kenna the peak hour traffic jam on the expressway. haiz. all thanks to that stupid delayed flight.

we stayed at hotel sunroute plaza shinjuku. very convenient location. 5 min walk to shinjuku mrt station. very near shinjuku shopping area. got family marts, nice cafeterias, jap restaurants and macdonald near our hotel. the only downside is the room a bit small... after putting our luggage got hardly any space to walk around. oh yah they provide complimentary internet access, got provide cable, so you must bring your own laptop. they dun have wireless.

called my colleague who also stayed in the same hotel. and he bring us for dinner! he has been to tokyo last year and is quite familiar with the place already.

the popcorn chicken thingy is actually chicken heart. darling dun dare to eat. haha.

our cosy hotel room.

bye bye! stay tuned to tokyo day 7!
