we stayed in different hotels every night, and the breakfast they serve are buffet style, comprising of japanese and western.
we were delighted at the magnificient spread for the first breakfast we had, but as the days go by, we getting a bit sian already, cos the food 来来去去 is always the same.
for the japanese side, the food will have rice, porridge, ocha, saba fish, miso soup, alot of different spiced pickles, and a few japanese dishes.
western part will be bread, crossiants, scrambled eggs, ham, bacon, sausages, milk, coffee, tea and fruit juices.
the breakfast that we ate on day 4 is nothing special in particular, just that the hotel that we stayed is a five-star hotel, so the restaurant has a better ambience, and the food looks more tasty and promising.
the first destination of the day is mount aso. the roads up to the mountain were very long and winding, and it doesnt help that the mist is super thick. respect to mr cute bus driver who drove us up to the mountain safely in one piece.
since the mist is so thick, there's nothing much to see, so we spend most of our time in the shops, testing the samples of the local specialties and buying stuff. haha.
lunch was a buffet spread. this was our one and only time eating buffet for lunch/dinner. we were so glad that we reach there early, so we can take our own sweet time to choose the food. cos half an hour later, a big bunch of korean tourists came, roughly 200 of them, and all of them are 七老八十 that kind, dun have babes/hunks like 宋慧乔 or 张东健. when they came its a bit difficult for us to go and take a second helping. -_-'''
after the traumatising lunch, we head to the next destination: hello kitty land!
the younger ones were very excited about it, even i myself was excited too, but i must declare that i am not a gu niang person ok. i just find the sanrio characters very cute and adorable.
all the while i thought that hello kitty land is just like disneyland, very crowded, very happening.
but when i reach there, i was wrong. the place is quite pathetic. when we were there, there were only about less than a hundred pple, including us singaporeans. only around 30 pple were watching the hello kitty show. as for the rides, there were more singaporeans than japanese trying them out.
(i feel like a kid again. haha.)
nevertheless, its still quite an eye-opener for us. so many sanrio stuff, make us really 眼花缭乱. haha. actually its a good thing that there's not many pple lah, cos we no need to queue up to wait for the rides. no need to queue up to take pics with the sanrio characters also. =p
below is the magnificient ferris wheel. of course not as magnificient as the eye of singapore, or the ferris wheel at KL and taipei. but it stands out because of the sanrio character carriages. i sat inside the bad badtz maru carriage. the view was breath-taking at the top of the ferris wheel, but also smelly, because nearby got a cow farm.
spent alot of time shopping in the hello kitty souvenir shops. spent quite some money too. haha. i bought a melody soft toy for darling and some other stuff for frens and colleagues. =)
for the night we stayed in this district called Beppu, which is a famous hot spring district. so everywhere u can see smoke coming out.
our hotel is a traditional hot spring hotel, so of course we have a yummy traditional japanese dinner, and tried the hot spring, then go to sleep. :)
