saturday:
went to sch for rehearsal. after that went to bishan sports hall with 16 of my sec 1 kids to watch the artistic gymnastics event of ASEAN SCHOOL GAMES. my kids were looking for china athletes and i told them china is not in ASEAN and one of them ask me in a very irritating tone:"but cher, why is china not in ASEAN?"
at midnight i went to airport to wait for darling and her family. they are back from taiwan! so happy to see darling but i was happier to see the gifts she bought for me. hahahahaha.
i like all 3, but i like the light blue denim shirt the most. :)
sunday:
went to esplanade theatre to watch the syf dance presentation. there were many schools who danced their syf pieces but these are the few items that stand out, in my humble opinion.
1) misson of destiny, by tkgs. first item of the presentation. and the music that they use is from IRIS, my favourite korean drama!
2) the hunt, by chij (katong) primary. i like their hairdo and their costumes. and the way they dance and move, i totally cannot believe they are still in primary school!
3) unfound voices, by hci. i love the visual effects of this item. they use mirrors, use wooden stools, and all the dancers have very good technique.
4) 轻语, by dhs. when the music starts with "ah ah ah ah ah, ahhhh ahhhh ahhhh ahhhh", me and darling immediately laughed because its the 清女 music for our nuscd DR08 performance. anyway this contemporary dance draws inspiration from the slow but powerful movments of 太极拳.
5) deliverance, by the combined varsity ensemble (featuring dancers from nus, ntu, smu and sutd). this item is choreographed by mr peter gn, the same person who choreographed the teachers' conference item that i danced in last year. so many good dancers in this item!
6) a symphony of bliss, the finale item of all the participating schools. choreographed by peter gn. around 120 dancers on stage. AND OF THEIR DANCE MOVES ARE AMAZINGLY SYNCHRONISED!!! i think dancers of nuscd should hang our heads in shame. our finale item is always so messy. haiz.
i am so thankful today is a school holiday. hahahahaha.
